One of the more powerful combatants among demons is the flaming hellspawn. They are unmatched in their sheer fighting prowess with supernatural strength and speed. However, the hellspawn cannot withstand much punishment. The ferocity of a hellspawn's attacks do not allow for a high level of accuracy, and its singleminded goal of destruction makes it slightly dimwitted. Dancing flames surround the hellspawn at all times. Other beings who stand near a hellspawn for more than a few moments may find themselves singed by the intense heat. The hellspawn may also choose to extend the range of its flames for a short period of time, forming a fireshield that engulfs anything that chooses to attack.

Burning Legion: although a hellspawn doesn't receive any direct bonuses from the Lord of Hell for its participation, it's hard to imagine a place where a hellspawn thrives more than in the middle of the flaming chaos that is the Burning Legion. Being able to channel parts of the fiery energies of its fellow demons, the hellspawn finds its own conflagrant powers much easier to fuel. Because of this, the hellspawn will do double damage with its flaming aura, and it can also use its fireshield ability free of stamina cost (see abilities below).

Flaming aura: a fiery aura surrounds the hellspawn that can damage all opponents who venture too close to the hellspawn. This aura also lights the immediate area (+1 light).

The hellspawn extends the sphere of flames encircling itself for several rounds. Attackers receive burn damage proportional to the damage they inflict upon the hellspawn. See "help spell fireshield" for more details on the effects of this magic.
