The elemental race refers to a collection of beings that trace their origin to the elemental planes. Creatures of raw power, they aren't quite at home on this plane. Nonetheless, they are still quite powerful, possessing some control over the elements that make their homes.

Elemental fusion

The elemental fusion is a powerful ritual in which creatures from each of the four elemental planes combine to form a temporary elemental maelstrom which does very powerful damage to other creatures present at the location. However, damage sustained by the maelstrom itself by physical attacks will be taken by all four elementals. To perform an elemental fusion, one creature from each of the four elemental planes (a wisp, a naga, a golem, and a phoenix) must be present in one room, and they must all be allied. One of the elementals will initiate the fusion. A fusion lasts approximately four combat rounds, but can only be done every few minutes as the recovery process is time-consuming.

Being in constant contact with their native elemental planes, it is a simple matter for any elemental to find allies, should the need arise. This ability of elementals is akin to the planar ally spell (see "help spell planar ally"), but for obvious reasons, elementals can only summon allies from their own home planes. In addition, they can only perform this feat once per minute.
